Okay, I try really hard not to bore you with my more banal interests and pastimes, navel gazing notwithstanding. On this glorious occasion, though, I simply cannot refrain.
Boston College, for better or worse my alma mater, tonight beat the everlovin’ pants off Virginia Tech in men’s football, something about which I am passionate beyond reason. Best of all, I was right there to see every sweet minute.
Kick. Ass. Seats. (Thanks, CK.)

I like to think my (slightly) neanderthal relationship with college football is incongruous with, well … the rest of me. It’s all about the Benjamins and blah, blah, blah … even in college. I know, I know. Shit, I was resentful as hell of the jocks who didn’t graduate $100K in the hole, like (ahem) some people I know.
But, ya know, you decide where to go to college before you’re mature enough to really even pick a decent haircut. Whether or not you actually enjoyed the place, it becomes this weird, lifelong affiliation … a decision that you must justify, if not defend, to yourself at the very least.
Maybe that’s why, in part, I find it downright magical when this scrappy team that I hitched my wagon to some 15 years ago gives me something to cheer about.
Go, BC!

Even in your most honest and human of moments you are such a geek.
Somehow you’ve managed to make that cute.
Aww. I didn’t even wax poetic about the half-time show. Marching band rawks, as you well know. ;-)
[...] Now that my big secret is out, I’d be remiss not to post a clip from BC’s recent bowl win. Nobody pulls it out in the clutch quite like them Screamin’ Eagles. [...]
[...] son. They ain’t messin’ around. Have I mentioned? I fucking love BC football. Beyond all reason. addthis_url = [...]
